Yorkton Tribal Council Enhanced Service Delivery

YTC ESD department provides programs and services to eligible Income Assistant Client residing at on Cote, The Key, Keeseekoose, Kahkewistahaw, Zagime Anishinabek and Ocean Man First Nations. Case management includes the intakes, employability assessments, career planning, and the implementation of the Mandatory Action Plan for each client.

Services provided:

  • To provide self-exploration and assessment tools too hard to employ workers who are in transition to finding employment.
  • To provide positive and empowering support through the transition process.
  • To help renew self-confidence and self-esteem to co-create a positive view of work through life and careers.
  • To provide participants with tools and strategies to help get employed.
  • to provide resumes, job searches, safety ticket (SCOT/WHMIS)

Objectives:

  • Work with the Income Assistance Worker from the six (6) communities (Cote, Keeseekoose, The Key, Kahkewistahaw, Ocean Man and Zagime Anishinabek).
  • Be an existing or new Income Assistant client, between 18-24 years of age and reside on-reserve.
  • Mandatory Action Plans are completed and required for each client.
  • ESD Clients being case managed require no more than 12 months of job skills training in order to become job ready.
  • Not requiring more than 12 months of pre-employment supports and job skills training to be deemed employable.
  • They are incentives and disincentives are being applied, check with your Income Assistant worker at your Band Office.
  • ESD provides supports and programs for the elimination of barriers for clients and ensure clients are employment ready; such barriers are proper identification, education, driver’s licenses and safety tickets, etc.
  • Referrals are also made with the First Nations Job Fund on IA Clients that are employment ready.

YTC Enhanced Service Delivery program “Status Blind” meaning that the clients do not have to be Status as long as they are between 18 – 24 years of age, live on a YTC First Nation Member Band and are in receipt of Income Assistance.

The Career Coaches are the front line workers who interact with clients at each site to identify on a case by case basis the personal development and training needs of individuals who are referred by the Member First Nations Income Assistant workers.
